This Family Safari itinerary holds the classic spots: Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Arusha National park. There are other parks in the program as well and some family activities to choose from. Let us now if you want to modify this itinerary, we would be happy to.

Day 1: ARRIVAL

You will be met at the International Airport of Kilimanjaro by your driver/guide and our representative We will take you to the Meru View Lodge, charming lodge situated right at the slopes of Mt. Meru. Children will enjoy the casual atmosphere and can roam around in the park style garden. Alternative accommodation is at Kiboko Lodge, right at the edge of Arusha National Park with wonderful views towards Mount Meru. Our Safari manager will come to meet you and to provide you with a safari briefing. Dinner included.

Day 2: Cultural Encounters in Arusha

Today you will take an excursion in the nearby surroundings of your lodge, meaning you can relax a little, sleep in a bit if you want, and stay in your lodge without having to pack up again after just one night.
You have the choice between three different options. Please choose the one suiting the needs of your family best:

Arusha National Park

After breakfast drive to Arusha National Park, once the site of the action packed Hollywood movie Hatari, starring John Wayne and Hardy Kruger. You pass by herds of zebra, buffalo, and giraffe on the savannah. Enjoy a picnic lunch at Momella Lake, famous for huge flocks of colourful flamingos and its views at majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro. You continue in the afternoon with a game drive around the different habitats in this truly beautiful national park.There are black and white colobus monkeys (unique to this location northern Tanzania), Sykes’s and vervet monkeys, shy forest duikers, elusive leopards and substantial herds of antelope.
If you wish, you can hike at the slopes of Mt Meru in dense forest or at the Crater rim while an armed ranger escorts you to protect you from some of the larger animals.

Alternatively, you could do some cultural visits instead of visiting Arusha National Park. We offer as follows:

Mulala

Full day excursion to Mulala, a picturesque village located of the slopes of Mt Meru, to visit the people living here and to get a glimpse of the daily life of Meru farmers growing vegetables and crops. Together with a local guide you walk from Mama Anna’s farm, crisscrossing coffee plantations and banana farms to the top of Lemeka Hill, and back down to the Marisha River, which is home of colorful birds and playful monkey. The village women will prepare some simple but tasty lunch for you before you return to Arusha.

Nkoaranga Village

Full day excursion to the small village of Nkoaranga. This is home to a local fair-trade coffee growers’ cooperative, made up of a group of small-farm coffee growers working together to build a sustainable, naturally grown, fair trade coffee business. Visit the coffee plantations and see the different steps of coffee growing. Learn about how coffee beans are collected, processed, roasted, ground and carefully packed. All proceeds from coffee sales return to the local farmers for reinvestment in the project, and to build their burgeoning organic farming project – with the first organic bean harvest scheduled within the next two years. Lunch is taken in the village before you return to Arusha. A walk through the village and at the local school or an orphanage is also included if desired.

Day 3: Lake Manyara

After breakfast we depart for Lake Manyara (driving time some 2.5 – 3 hours). Nestling at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, the park is recognized for its incredible beauty. You can see many game animals such as Buffalo, Elephant, Giraffe, Impala, hippo and others. After spending most of the day in the car you might enjoy a leisurely stroll along Kirurumu River which has to be crossed on large rocks a couple of times. This is a great chance to get out your vehicle and explore this beautiful area on foot. Note that wet muddy feet cannot entirely be avoided…!

You will make the short journey towards Ngorongoro directly after your day of game driving at Lake Manyara, meaning you can make it down to the crater floor early morning the following day. Spend the evening at Country Lodge, an rustic lodge at the outskirts of Ngorongoro Conservation Area with comfortable rooms in a large tropical garden around an inviting swimming pool. All meals included.Transfer time without game viewing 3 hours.

Day 4: Around Karatu

Today you spend a day around Karatu and visit the lively market, you go on a guided walk either to the nearby coffee plantations or if you want it a bit more sportive to Ganeko Hill in some distance. If you are lucky one of the weekly colorful Maasai Markets is held, and you can visit an old descendent from the ancient Iraqw Tribe who will be happy to introduce you to his culture and history.

Day 5: Ngorongoro – Serengeti

After breakfast you start on your way to Serengeti National Park (driving time some 4 hours, but with plenty to see on the way!) En route you will see grazing zebras, antelopes and giraffes and sometimes some buffalos hiding in the bush. You will visit a Maasai Boma (traditional village) where some Maasai Warriors will welcome you, show you around and explain their traditional life. They will also show you their famous jumping dance and invite you to join in if you like! You can also see inside houses, meet children, ask questions and take photos!

After stopping for your picnic lunch on a kopje (rock outcropping) in Serengeti you will continue further into the park and go on a game drive in the afternoon. Depending on the time of year and the migration of the herds you can expect to see wildebeest, lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, monkeys, baboons, hippos, rhinos, antelopes and many birds and other species.

Tonight and the following night you spend in a comfortable tented camp at the edge of the famous Serengeti, with views over the endless savannah with some animals and typically African acacia trees. Enjoy some relaxing hours at the camp fire under open sky after dinner, chatting with other guests and the charismatic security guards.Transfer time without game viewing 4 hours.

Day 6: Serengeti

Spend a leisurely day on game drives around Serengeti. Return to your lodge for a relaxed lunch under the shade of an old acacia tree.In the afternoon you can go out again on game drives or undertake a nature walk around the camp with some resident tribesmen. They are happy to share their knowledge of plants and animals surrounding them and introduce you into their use of traditional bow and arrow for hunting.

Day 7: Serengeti – Ngorongoro

Early start today for an early morning game drive to see also nocturnal predators returning from hunting and animals waking up in early morning light. You can take breakfast boxes with you and have a bush breakfast when the sun is up before you visit the interesting documentation center about Serengeti at Seronera After breakfast will proceed to Ngorongoro Conservation Area and go for an afternoon a Nature Walk (depending on weather conditions) at the Northern Crater Rim of Ngorongoro Crater inhabited by buffaloes, elephants, baboons, monkeys and different species of birds. Escorted by a ranger or Maasai Guide you follow animal paths through dense.Transfer time without game viewing 3- 3,5 hours.

Overnight at Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge. All meals included.

Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast you will explore the famous Ngorongoro Crater during a wonderful game drive (with a picnic lunch) inside the Ngorongoro Crater often described as one of the wonders of the world. It is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and a natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s densest animal populations. It is one of the few places where the rare black rhino can be observed in their natural setting. As very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000 ft. high walls, you can expect to see lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds and other species. With a bit of luck the ‘Big Five’ can be spotted during one game drive only.

Day 9: Lake Eyasi

From Ngorongoro you proceed to Lake Eyasi home to the hunter-gathers ethnic group of the Hadzabe Bushmen bearing similar characteristics to those of Bushmen at Southern Africa. The small people of this indigenous tribe are probably the last living in true harmony with nature and have a wealth of Fauna and Flora knowledge to share with us. Around Lake Eyasi you will also visit the remotely living Datoga Tribe famous for their colorful leather dresses. The day is filled with visits and cultural encounters around Lake Eyasi until you enjoy a beautiful sunset at the banks of Lake Eyasi.Transfer time without game viewing 2 hours.

Day 9: Lake Eyasi – Arusha – Kilimanjaro – DEPARTURE

In the morning you go out with the Hadzabe Bushmen for a morning hunt or walk (depending on your schedule either at 06:30 or later around 09:00 hrs). After completing your visit with the Hadzabe and Datoga you return to Arusha and onwards to Kilimanjaro for departure, where your family safari ends. A day room will be arranged for your comfort. Transfer time without game viewing 4 hours. Breakfast and lunch included.

Day 1: ARRIVAL

Your family safari Southern Tanzania starts when you are met at the International Airport of Dar Es Salaam by your driver/guide and our representative. We will take you to the Holiday Inn (or similar hotel ) in Dar Es Salaam for overnight.

Day 2: Dar Es Salaam – Selous Game Reserve

After breakfast you start your family safari Southern Tanzania Pick up from the hotel for your drive to Selous Game Reserve (driving some 5-7 hours). You arrive at your lodge in the afternoon in time for a late lunch at your lodge, taking your time to absorb the wild African surroundings. After lunch and some rest you explore the area around your lodge a little on a guided walking tour along the river banks of Rufiji River. You walk between shrubs and old mahogany trees, watching playful monkeys in the canopy and hippos grunting and socializing in the water. Return to your lodge in time for a cold sundowner.

Day 3: Selous Safari

Full day of game drives at Selous Game Reserve, named after famous explorer Frederick Selous. The Selous Game Reserve a vast protected wildlife reserve – a UN World Heritage site and a pristine uninhabited area larger than Switzerland. The topography of the park varies from rolling savannah woodland, grassland plain and rocky outcrops cut by the Rufiji River and its tributaries. Activities are game drives, a thrilling and educational walking safari and a boat trip at Rufiji River.

Overnight at Selous Great Water Lodge. All meals included.

Day 4: Selous Game Reserve

Today you take some cultural excursions to a nearby village. See the local daily life of rural Tanzania in the remote countryside and enjoy some insights into local culture as well as encounters with the friendly villagers. This is a great chance to try out some rudimentary Swahili!

Overnight at Selous Great Water Lodge. All meals included.

Day 5: Selous – Mikumi

After breakfast you will proceed to the next exciting stop of your safari circuit. First you cross a vast and remote part of Northern Selous on some bumpy and partly dusty roads towards Morogoro Town and onwards to Mikumi National Park, where you reach your camp in the afternoon. Vuma Hills Tented Camp is perched above the trees stretching over the seemingly endless wilderness south west of Mikumi National Park, an ideal place to evoke the true spirit of Africa.

After a short rest you go on an afternoon game drive at Mikumi. Depending on your game drive there is time for a dip in the pool before you get ready for the evening. At your camp there is a special feeding area where rare honey badgers and civet cats can be seen in the evening.

Day 6: Mikumi Safari

Today you explore Mikumi further on a full day safari. A day at Mikumi National Park provides a good impression of African safari wildlife and is very well suited for a short visit. There is a rich variety of bird species as well as large numbers of buffaloes and elephants, and a great many giraffe which can be seen traversing the plains with their unique ambling gait. Close to the water holes lions, leopards and hippos can also be found. Other species residing here include zebras, wild dogs, pythons, hartebeest, wildebeest, elephants, impala, warthog, eland and other antelopes. Several observation towers enable you to overview the rolling miombo woodland and wide open plains of Mikumi in its entirety – an amazing view. Together with an armed ranger you will also go for a walking safari to the bush while your guide shows you shrubs, footprints and animal tracks.

Day 7: Udzungwa Mountain National Park

After breakfast your depart for Udzungwa Mountain National Park (drive of some 2 hours), one of the most interesting bio-diversity and unique rainforest areas of East Africa, where many extremely rare plants and animal species have been identified (and indeed continue to be discovered). Among the six types of primates there are two endemic species found nowhere else in the world – the Udzungwa Colobus Monkey and the Sanje Crested Mangabey. You arrive at your camp late morning for a day of walking and bird-watching in the pristine rain forest, hiking towards the Sanje waterfalls for spectacular views of the wide Kilombero Valley. If you wish, you can bath and play around in the pools at the waterfalls.

For the next 3 nights you stay at the unique Udzungwa Forest Camp, set on spacious lush green grounds on the border of the pristine rainforest. Children can roam free around the camp, running on the grass, taking in the magical views of the forest canopy, relaxing at the regular campfires in the night, or even spending some time bug-watching!

Overnight in the Hondo Hondo Udzungwa Forest Camp (Accommodation in a en suite luxury tent). All meals included.

Day 8-9: Udzungwa Mountain National Park

Spend 2 more active days at Udzungwa Forest Camp, filled with fun suited to the needs of you and your family. Activities to choose from include a (quite tough) hike to the mountain national park, a walking tour to Mwaya Town and onwards to the Rubber Plantation (to see where natural latex comes from and how it is processed), a relaxing few hours on a traditional dug out canoe floating along the Kilomero River (excellent for budding birdwatchers!), and mountain-biking around Kilombero Valley. One activity is offered per day as per your preference.

2 x Overnight in the Hondo Hondo Udzungwa Forest Camp. All meals included.

Day 10: Udzungwa – Dar Es Salaam

End of your Family Safari Tanzania South. After breakfast you return by road to Dar es Salaam (some 6-7 hours) for departure, or a fun-packed beach holiday on the Island of Zanzibar.

Day 7: Serengeti – Zanzibar

After last bush breakfast at your camp we take you to Seronera Airstrip in the Serengeti, for your flight to Zanzibar (departure at around 11:05 with arrival around 14:30).

Transfer to The Zanzibari Hotel or Matemwe Beach Village at Matemwe Beach. All meals included.

Accommodation at larger resort like Ocean Paradise Resort on request.

Day 8-11: Beach Extension

Relax and enjoy the beaches of Zanzibar. Breakfast and dinner included.

Day 12: Spice Tour

After breakfast transfer to Stone Town. On the way we will do the famous Spice Tour. We have developed a special Spice Tour with information not only about spices, but also organically grown herbs and a detailed description about their traditional uses in medicine cosmetics and cooking. After the tour we invite for an sumptuous and filling lunch at the Spice Restaurant, where you can taste the spices and fruits you have just learned about and seen growing fresh.
In the afternoon you have some time at leisure. Your hotel is conveniently located at Stone Town’s beautiful waterfront where in the afternoon the locals gather together for some football, gymnastics or just some relaxed socializing on the sand. A turquoise blue pool ensures refreshment from the heat of the day.

Day 13: Zanzibar Town

In the morning we will show you Zanzibar’s fabled old town on our Historical Stone Town Tour. Stone Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a beautiful and interesting place where history appears to stand still. With visits to the House of Wonders, the Palace Museum (People’s Palace) and the Arab Fort amongst others, it is a fascinating look at the essence of Zanzibar. You will see Zanzibar’s bustling market, winding alleyways, ornately carved and studded doors, two cathedrals and countless mosques! Rest in the afternoon, explore the many curio shops at leisure, enjoy a cold beer at a beach side bar, or go on a boat trip to the neighboring islands (extra cost).

Day 14: DEPARTURE

End of your Family Safari Tanzania North with Zanzibar extension. Departure transfer to Zanzibar Airport for your departure.

Day 1: Arrival

Your Family Safari Zanzibar starts when you are met at the International Airport of Kilimanjaro by your driver/guide and our representative. We will take you to the L’Oasis Lodge, a simple but charming lodge at the foot of Mt. Meru. Traditional round huts are clustered in the tropical garden, and a small pool guarantees refreshing moments on a hot day. Our safari manager will come to meet you and to provide you with a safari briefing.

Accommodation will be in a family room where 3-4 persons can comfortably sleep. Dinner included.

Day 2: Lake Manyara

After breakfast the family safari starts and we depart for Lake Manyara (driving time some 2.5 – 3 hours). Nestling at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, the park is recognized for its incredible beauty. You can see many game animals such as Buffalo, Elephant, Giraffe, Impala, hippo and others.

Overnight at the nice, intimate Rift Valley Lodge perched on a escarpment granting great views over Lake Manyara with grazing animals towards the Rift Valley Escarpment. All meals included.

Day 3: Exploring Lake Manyara and its surroundings

After spending most of the previous days in the car you might enjoy to get out of the car for some physical activities and to explore the area at the Rift Valley Escarpment by walk guided by well trained local guides. First you walk through Mto wa Mbu Village where your guides introduce you to the local village and social life, to economic activities, education and many others things. Instead of the village tour your guides can also take you to a large banana plantation, one of the basics of local economy life and explain you about this agricultural meaning. Later you can walk through a small forest inhabited by monkeys and dikdiks which leads to Miwaleni River. Following the river is a thrilling (maybe little strenuous) hike and climb over rocks and stones until you finally reach Miwaleni Waterfall hidden in the Rift Valley Escarpment.
After lunch at your lodge and some rest you can go for a bicycle ride in the plains towards Lake Manyara.

Day 4: Ngorongoro

After breakfast you pass into Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the crater for a wonderful game drive (with a picnic lunch) inside the Ngorongoro Crater often described as one of the wonders of the world. It is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and a natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s densest animal populations. It is one of the few places where the rare black rhino can be observed in their natural setting. As very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000 ft. high walls, you can expect to see lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds and other species. With a bit of luck the ‘Big Five’ can be spotted during one game drive only.

Day 5: Ngorongoro-Serengeti

After breakfast you start on your way to Serengeti National Park (driving time some 4 hours, but with plenty to see on the way!) En route you will see grazing zebras, antelopes and giraffes and sometimes some buffaloes hiding in the bush. You will visit a Maasai Boma (traditional village) where some Maasai Warriors will welcome you, show you around and explain their traditional life. They will also show you their famous jumping dance and invite you to join in if you like! You can also see inside houses, meet children, ask questions and take photos!

After stopping for your picnic lunch on a kopje (rock outcropping) in Serengeti you will continue further into the park and go on a game drive in the afternoon. Depending on the time of year and the migration of the herds you can expect to see wildebeest, lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, monkeys, baboons, hippos, rhinos, antelopes and many birds and other species.Tonight and the following night you spend in a comfortable tented camp at the edge of the famous Serengeti, with views over the endless savannah with some animals and typically African acacia trees. Enjoy some relaxing hours at the camp fire under open sky after dinner, chatting with other guests and the charismatic security guards.

Day 6: Serengeti

Early start today for an early morning game drive to see also nocturnal predators returning from hunting and animals waking up in early morning light. You can take breakfast boxes with you and have a bush breakfast when the sun is up before you visit the interesting documentation center about Serengeti at Seronera. Return to your lodge for a relaxed lunch under the shade of an old acacia tree.
In the afternoon you can go out again on game drives or undertake a nature walk around the camp with some resident tribesmen. They are happy to share their knowledge of plants and animals surrounding them and introduce you into their use of traditional bow and arrow for hunting.

Day 7: Serengeti-Zanzibar

After last bush breakfast at your camp we take you to Seronera Airstrip in the Serengeti, for your flight to Zanzibar (departure at around 11:05 with arrival around 14:30) . Transfer to The Zanzibari Hotel. Breakfast and lunch included.

Day 8-10: Beach Extension

Relax and enjoy the beaches of Zanzibar. Breakfast and dinner.

Day 11: Spice Tour

After breakfast transfer to Stone Town. On the way we will do the famous Spice Tour. We have developed a special Spice Tour with information not only about spices, but also organically grown herbs and a detailed description about their traditional uses in medicine cosmetics and cooking. After the tour we invite for an sumptuous and filling lunch at the Spice Restaurant, where you can taste the spices and fruits you have just learned about and seen growing fresh.
In the afternoon you have some time at leisure. Your hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Stone Town and you may use their sister hotel at the beautiful waterfront where in the afternoon the locals gather together for some football, gymnastics or just some relaxed socializing on the sand. A turquoise blue pool ensures refreshment from the heat of the day.

Day 01: Arrival

You will be met at the International Airport of Dar Es Salaam by your driver/guide and our representative. We will take you to Dar Es Salaam Holiday Inn Dinner included.

Day 02: Dar Es Salaam-Selous Game Reserve

After breakfast, pick up from the hotel for your drive to Selous Game Reserve (driving some 5-7 hours). You arrive at your lodge in the afternoon in time for a late lunch at your lodge, taking your time to absorb the wild African surroundings. After lunch and some rest you explore the area around your lodge a little on a guided walking tour along the river banks of Rufiji River. You walk between shrubs and old mahogany trees, watching playful monkeys in the canopy and hippos grunting and socialising in the water. Return to your lodge in time for a cold sundowner drink.

Day 03: Selous Game Reserve

Full day of game drives at Selous Game Reserve, named after famous explorer Frederick Selous. The Selous Game Reserve a vast protected wildlife reserve – a UN World Heritage site and a pristine uninhabited area larger than Switzerland. The topography of the park varies from rolling savannah woodland, grassland plain and rocky outcrops cut by the Rufiji River and its tributaries. Activities are game drives, a thrilling and educational walking safari and a boat trip at Rufiji River.

Day 04: Selous Game Reserve

Today you take some cultural excursions to a nearby village. See the local daily life of rural Tanzania in the remote countryside and enjoy some insights into local culture as well as encounters with the friendly villagers. This is a great chance to try out some rudimentary Swahili!

Day 05: Selous- Mikumi

After breakfast you will proceed to the next exciting stop of your safari circuit. First you cross a vast and remote part of Northern Selous on some bumpy and partly dusty roads towards Morogoro Town and onwards to Mikumi National Park, where you reach your camp in the afternoon. Vuma Hills Tented Camp is perched above the trees stretching over the seemingly endless wilderness south west of Mikumi National Park, an ideal place to evoke the true spirit of Africa.
After a short rest you go on an afternoon game drive at Mikumi. Depending on your game drive there is time for a dip in the pool before you get ready for the evening. At your camp there is a special feeding area where rare honey badgers and civet cats can be seen in the evening.

Day 06: Mikumi National Park

Today you explore Mikumi further on a full day safari. A day at Mikumi National Park provides a good impression of African safari wildlife and is very well suited for a short visit. There is a rich variety of bird species as well as large numbers of buffaloes and elephants, and a great many giraffe which can be seen traversing the plains with their unique ambling gait. Close to the water holes lions, leopards and hippos can also be found. Other species residing here include zebras, wild dogs, pythons, hartebeest, wildebeest, elephants, impala, warthog, eland and other antelopes. Several observation towers enable you to overview the rolling miombo woodland and wide open plains of Mikumi in its entirety – an amazing view.

Day 07: Mikumi-Zanzibar

After last bush breakfast at your camp we take you back to Dar Es Salaam for your flight to Zanzibar (departure at around 16:00). Transfer The Zanzibari Hotel. Breakfast and lunch included

Optional flight Mikumi-Zanzibar can be arranged.

Day 08 – 10: Beach Extension

Only few travellers ‘dare’ to travel to the parks during rainy season. They are awarded with unforgettable sights and experiences if you don’t mind the occasional deluge. The vast savannahs are transformed into an endless green carpets flecked with wildflowers and scattered with plenty of game. There might be some short downpours – usually in the afternoon or during the night – after which the air is crisp and clear and all the scenery is incredibly green. Rivers and pools are full and food is readily available for all animals. Day 01 ARRIVAL

Day 02 Lake Manyara National Park

Your Tour starts with the drive to Lake Manyara. Nestling at the base of the 600-metre high Rift Valley Escarpment, the park is recognized for its incredible beauty and indeed a scenic gem. Lush jungle-like groundwater forests inhabited by large herds of elephants and strong troops of monkeys contrasts with grassy fertile floodplains preferred habitat of many savannah game like buffalo, giraffes, wildebeests, impalas and many more. The alkaline Lake Manyara is home to hippos and and large numbers of various water and swamp birds like storks, cormorants, pelicans and pink-hued flamingos. Steaming and bubbling hot springs in the very south of the park and the adjacent swamps are an attractive sight as well. The compact game-viewing circuit through Manyara offers a virtual microcosm of the Tanzanian safari experience.

Day 03 Lake Manyara-Serengeti

After breakfast you start on your way to Serengeti National Park. First your way winds up the steep slopes of the Rift Valley Escarpment with breathtaking views over Lake Manyara to the south eastern slopes of the Ngorongoro Highlands. You pass a vast area of pure Masai country where colorful Masai herdsmen in their traditional attire are everywhere to be seen. If you desire a traditional Masai Boma can be visited (some extra charges apply). Rolling hills covered with lush green pasture and blossoming flowers are scattered with zebras, wildebeests and various species of antelopes. Even the rate Eland antelope is frequently seen.
After stopping for your picnic lunch on a kopje (rock outcropping) in Serengeti you will continue further into the park and go on a game drive around Southern and Central Serengeti being famed for the famous ‘Great Migration’ during the months of April till June.

Day 04 Serengeti

Full day of game drives around Serengeti, named after the ancient Masai Word ‘Siringet’ meaning ‘wide, endless plains’ and most likely the most famous national park worldwide. You can expect to see wildebeest, lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, baboons, hippos, rhinos, antelopes and many birds and other species. During and after the rains, its golden expanse of grass is transformed into an endless green carpet flecked with wildflowers. And there are also wooded hills and towering termite mounds, rivers lined with fig trees and acacia woodland stained orange by dust. Depending on your ‘stamina’ you leave with a packed lunch and stay out in the bush for the whole day or you return to your camp early afternoon for a late lunch and some time of rest in your camp. If weather permits you can go out with your guide on a nature walk around the camp to stretch your leg and see small wonders of nature usually not seen during the game drives.

Day 05 Serengeti -Ngorongoro

Early morning game drive to see also nocturnal predators returning from hunting and animals waking up in early morning light. Day 07 Ngorongoro – Arusha

Depending on your schedule and when you need to be back in Arusha you still have some time to explore the area around your lodge located at the other rim of Ngorongoro Crater. You can visit the famous farmer’s market of Karatu Town, take a stroll through the coffee gardens of your lodge, ask your guide to arrange another hike on a forest trail or visit a traditional tribesman of the ancient Irawq tribe. Even an adventurous Quadbike Excursion at the scenic foothills of Ngorongoro can be arranged (approx 2 hours – additional cost of 99 USD per person). Return to Arusha afterwards.
